Back Pain and Sciatica

Your back is a complex structure of bones, muscles, joints and nerves and, because of this, back pain is a very common condition for osteopaths to treat. From heavy lifting and moving awkwardly to trapped nerves and slipped or prolapsed discs, there are many reasons for back pain. This is why it's important that the correct cause is diagnosed so an appropriate treatment plan can be developed for you. We can also help with rehabilitation following surgery.

Sciatica

The body is very finely balanced and when its structure is out of alignment it can cause localised or referred pain. Back pain, nerve pain and conditions such as sciatica can lead to pain in other areas of the body including the pelvis, hips and legs. Where possible, we will diagnose the root problem of the pain and develop a treatment plan to alleviate and improve symptoms.

Posture & Repetitive Strain Injury

We have seen an increase in postural problems and repetitive strain injury caused by modern living including driving, work strain and the use of computers and mobiles. We can work with you to ease the symptoms and re-align the body so the pain is less likely to re-occur. As well as advising you on how to avoid  these problems happening again.
